When a specification needs to be revised (i.e. updated and published as a new version), the following steps must take place:
- The owner of the specification revises the change requests included in the Change Request Log (click 'Open Change Request Log' button and approve or reject all the change requests).
- The owner of the specification closes the Change Request Log (mark the Change Request Log as 'Complete').
- A Specification Revision Request is created by the owner of the specification (click again 'Open Change Request Log' button and then 'Create Revision Request') .
- When the Revision Request is complete (a 'Reason for Change' shall be provided), a new version of the specification is created after clicking the 'Send' button. You can now mark again the Change Request Log as completed and close the window.
- During this time, the published specification will remain active for use, there will exist another specification (the new version) within the 'In Progress' view of specifications.
- When the new version is published (after editing, review and approval), the old version will be moved to the archive.
